1.Find a hit song - without a hit song an artist wont make it in the music industry. Become a good songwriter, and read as many songwriting books as possible. Study popular songs, and join local songwriter clubs. Make it your goal to find an, "extremely- catchy- song", for your demo. Do not waste your time and money recording standard songs. Keep looking for that song that will (blow away) you and your friends. Many artists have built careers of one hit song. To be safe, write many songs, and get feedback from fans, friend and Music professionals about which songs may have hit potential.
2. Record your hit song - Now that you found or wrote that, "extremely-catchy-song" you were looking for; It is time to record it. Your next task is to find a great, talented music producer like a highly talented student. (Good producers are expensive, if you do not have the budget for a good producer. Try looking for a talented student instead; they could do a fantastic job sometimes.) Finally, yet importantly you will need to find a good voice couch to produce your voice in the studio.

7. Create an account on Twitter. Keep fans updated about your music, upcoming shows videos, interviews etc. and working on and invites their input.
8. Start a music band and put up an impressive show. Perform live as much as possibly- get your act and name out there; Interact with other musicians, fans, and industry heads. Sell your music cd's while you are at it.
9. Create videos and place them place it on YouTube. You can easily create and upload some sort of slide show with your audio behind it and put it on YouTube. This is also an excellent way to be seen performing, and a terrific way to get more fans and subscribers.
10.Create a MySpace page. Upload your music so that they play your songs in a playlist as soon as a visitor comes across your profile page. This is an also a powerful tool because, you will be able to gain fans, and obtain good music business contacts residing on MySpace.
