Teens want to get in on the clubbing scene more often than not, and surely anyone involved in nightclub operations has had to deal with underage customers sneaking in or trying to use fake identification. Teen nights at nightclubs allow teens in the area to have a nightclub feel and help build up a base of future clientele. However, running teen nights requires some adaptations and precautions in order for everything to go smoothly.
First of all, the advertising for the teen night should strictly define what ages are allowed to enter the nightclubs. This tends to vary depending on what time the event begins and what kind of area the nightclub is located in, but there is an obvious difference between an event geared for nineteen year olds and an event catered towards sixteen year olds. Instituting an appropriate age range and checking valid identification at the door will ensure a better event and even give the teens the real nightclub feel of being let in to the exclusive venue.
Next, make sure that security not only enforces the age range, but takes the teen night seriously. Just because alcohol won't be served to the customers doesn't mean that issues can't occur. Some teens might try to sneak in alcohol or other substances which could disrupt the flow of the event, so remaining vigilant and taking the job seriously will not only help safety, but allow employees to grow accustomed to the teen nights.
Because of the lack of alcohol, many teens might not quite grasp what exactly the nightclub experience might be. Changing decorations and altering the music towards the appropriate age range will not only make the teens feel comfortable and make them want to come back for more, but will guarantee that the teens will pass on positive feedback through word of mouth to new customers. Nightclubs have to be ready to adopt ideas like theme nights for when teens are present, which goes beyond alterations to the non alcoholic beverage menu. Usual hits are nights focused on 80s and 90s music, ladies' nights, or even movie themes.
Teen nights are a big challenge when it comes to running a nightclub, but keeping an open mind and having an insight on what the teens in the area want in a nightclub experience will guarantee high attendance and excellent feedback. Even without the presence of alcohol, an innovative nightclub can keep the teens coming back again and again.
